DIY Halloween Reverse Canvas
Halloween is going to be here before you know it. Have you guys started planning your costume yet?
I think use a regular painter's canvas to make this Halloween Reverse Canvas. It’s a super easy and quick home decor project to spook up your mantel for the holiday.
Today, I would love to share this fun DIY Halloween Reverse Canvas !
Before we get our hands on this project, I want to explain to you how this tutorial will unfold (I don’t want you to get confused).
There is an SVG file that we will be using: Hocus Pocus
What you will need for the project : (affiliate links)
Painters Canvas
Xacto knife
Stapler
Black paint and paint brush
Scissors
Firstly, upload the Halloween SVG cut file into your cutting program software. I used Cricut Design Space. Then, resize the design to fit within the frame of the painter's canvas. When using iron on vinyl with any cut machine, make sure to mirror image the design before you cut it. Choose iron on material to cut the design.
Next, iron on vinyl should be placed onto your cutting mat with the shiny side down. Load the mat into the cutting machine and cut the design.
While waiting for the design to cut, cut the canvas off of the painters canvas with an xacto knife. One the back of the canvas, run the xacto knife along the staples.Once the canvas is removed from the frame of the canvas, paint the frame black and let it dry. (Sorry my pictures are in the wrong order here.)
Weed out all the unwanted vinyl from the design, keeping the plastic cover sheet in tact. Place the design down onto the canvas you just removed from the frame. The design should be the right way and centered on the canvas.
Use an EasyPress to iron on the design to the canvas. Set the temp at 340 degrees and press for 30 seconds.
Remove the plastic protective sheet from the design once it is pressed onto the canvas. Attach the canvas to the back of the frame using a stapler. Cut off the excess canvas with a pair of scissors.
The Halloween reverse canvas is now ready for adding to your festive decor.
I hope this post was very useful for you. I would love to see your creations.
